What an incredible picture! The giant kites of Guatemala are so unique and so ornate. I've spent the last few years researching kites of all kinds, and usually find the shapes vary widely even within the same culture. The kites of Guatemala seem to be exclusively circular, but with decorative creativity going overboard! I wonder if the shapes attached around the perimeter are meant to represent the sun, or perhaps flower petals...
