I found that a can of Maple Syrup opened a lot of doors when I was visiting Malta, Florence and Rome.
Yes a small bottle of maple syrup is the perfect gift when on business trips overseas. Very Canadian, not too expensive but also not cheap, tasty and the recipient can share it with his or her family.
