A Scandal in Belgravia

I just saw the first of this season's episodes of the BBC's Sherlock.  I think it continues to be an absolutely brilliant adaptation.   But then I really, really liked A Knight's Tale, and not just for the jousting.

  1. It did not seem as sharp as the previous season's four episodes. But still very enjoyable. But the first episodes had an energy that would be hard to maintain into a second season.

They remain among my favourite apocrypha to the Holmes corpus, along with the brilliant "Murder Rooms" series of 2000-2001, starring Ian Richardson and Charles Edwards. These were imaginative, and lovingly knowledgeable about both the Holmes canon and Conan Doyle himself. Plus utterly brilliant acting.
