I had no idea

The Saguenay River, Quebec:

I was reading about it, and decided to look it up...

  1. Filip Marek and I went hitching and hiking in this region. The Charlevoix and Saguenay regions just north of Quebec City are extraordinarily beautiful. Picture perfect villages with beautiful parish churches. Roadside, family run lunch places with superb home cooking. The Saguenay is regularly visited by whales, which splash and play in the river. The forests are deep and unsullied. We walked the length of deep canyon that had hundreds of waterfalls.
