The town of Tewkesbury in England was built around its Abbey and abbey church. Yes, it's rained a lot in England, and not just in Tewkesbury.

When I took a class in archaeology, they taught me that the worst weather circumstances, like mist, ice or floodwaters, often offer the best conditions to spot the layout of a town or a house. Unfortenatly this spectacular picture of the floods in Great-Britain is a very good example.
ReplyDeleteWorking on my Lyrics Game, I needed pictures of towns. I put in "medieval town" and your page came up right then. I'm going to look for other things, too, but the word "town" will be played on Monday 8/11/08.
